Wildlife

This is not a very nature friendly page...  As the vast majority of the plants and animals in the Yucatan bite, sting, stick, or burn, we frequently find ourselves in conflict with nature.  Here, one of the guys is "removing" a wasp nest so that we can work in the area.

 

 

 

 

 

This cave spider lived in our bathroom.  While he was generally willing to share, he did get grumpy at the flashlight in his eyes each morning.

 

These caterpillars (langostas) are found in clusters on some trees.

 

This boa was one of the many snakes we came across during our work.  Its head is a bit bigger than my fist.

 

   

Some things are pretty, others are a bit scary. 

 

Even the ants are bigger here...
