The Tectonic Sandbox: An Interdepartment Enterprise

Abstract. To demonstrate the mechanics of certain geologic processes, a unique teaching aid is being designed and built here at College of the Redwoods for the Geology Department. The conceptualization, design, drafting, and construction of the device, the Tectonic Sandbox, has required the efforts of students and faculty from the Science, Drafting and Machine Tool Technology Divisions.
